NDI and OMT are easy ways to send and receive high quality, low latency video and audio between supported devices using a standard Gigabit enabled network.

For example you can produce one aspect of your show on one computer and send the output to vMix running on another.

vMix supports both sending and receiving NDI and OMT.

Receiving Sources

See NDI / OMT / Desktop Capture for more information.

Sending video and audio from vMix

vMix supports sending a number of different types of output via NDI or OMT.
To enable a particular type of output, it must first be turned on from Settings - Outputs / NDI / OMT / SRT

Output 1

This is the main Output (or "Program") feed and includes the Master stereo audio mix

Output 2, 3, 4

These are independent outputs that can be configured to show Output, Preview, MultiView or a particular input.

See Settings - Outputs / NDI / OMT / SRT for more information.

Cameras / Calls / Audio Inputs

Any Camera, Video Call or Audio inputs currently being used in vMix can also be viewed remotely via NDI or OMT.

Audio Outputs

Master, Headphones, A and B mixes in vMix can all be independently accessed over the network.

The A and B mixes can be enabled by assigning them to Enabled in the dropdown list in Settings - Audio Outputs

and also by turning on the Audio Outputs button for NDI or OMT in the Additional outputs section under Settings - Outputs / NDI / OMT / SRT

Changing additional settings such as resolution and audio channel on an Output

Output 1,2,3 and 4 each have a cog button that provides access to additional options when using these outputs with NDI, OMT, SRT, MultiCorder or with Instant Replay.
(Note: vMix Call has a separate option to select an audio track for a caller, so in this case, changing the audio channels here will have no effect).

Audio Channels: Specify the audio bus and channels to use with NDI, OMT, SRT, MultiCorder or Instant Replay when using this output.
When selecting more than 4 channels for Instant Replay, only the first four channels are recorded.

20 dB Boost: Boost the volume of the output by 20 dB (NDI and OMT only).
Alpha Channel: Enable sending an alpha channel (NDI and OMT only)
Resolution: Scale the main vMix Output Size to SD (720x576 for PAL frame rates, 720x480 for all others), HD720 (1280x720) or HD1080 (1920x1080)

Output Audio Levels

The audio levels from vMix may appear 20dB lower than expected in some applications. To fix this tick the 20dB Boost option in the Output Settings.
