Position Description
VMIX has an immediate opening for an Internet Media Architect - Core Developer who is responsible for the architecture and implementation of the VMIX media serving platform. This developer will design and implement VMIX back end products. Our engineers design and code in a collaborative environment, developing innovative solutions for our clients.
Responsibilties
- Code projects - design and implement VMIX platform
- Collaborate with DBA to design and encode media serving infrastructure
- Make recommendations regarding new web technology
- Work with internal teams as needed to develop new creative ideas.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- BS or BA, or equivalent of work experience
- Five plus years experience with internet media required.
- Significant experience with: Linux, MySQL, PHP or Perl, and Apache Web Servers
- Encoding, and C experience preferred.
- Excellent English language communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to interface professionally and effectively with all levels of personnel, both within and outside the company in fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Able to follow-through, assume responsibility and use good judgment.
- Self starter, flexible, creative.

SOFTWARE DEVELOPER
CORE DEVELOPER
Position Description
VMIX has an immediate opening for a Software Developer to design, develop, maintain, and implement products using the VMIX platform. Our developers work together to create the best design solutions in a growing collaborative environment.
Responsibilties
- Design, implement and maintain web application products using VMIX platform (forms, blogs, templates, widgets).
- Unit testing and troubleshooting.
- Ongoing assessment of site UI.
- Make recommendations regarding new web technology.
- Work with internal teams as needed to develop new creative ideas.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- BS or BA, or equivalent of work experience
- Three plus years experience in PHP with significant experience building web applications.
- Experience working with media (video, audio, images) preferred.
- Experience with programming in Perl, customizing Apache and working in Linux preferred.
- Experience in all of the following areas:
- Linux preferred
- JavaScript (specifically manipulating the DOM, DHTML)
- CSS preferred (specifically building tableless web pages)
- MySQL
- PHP 5 (specifically working with objects and building classes)
- Prefer experience with Flash.
- Excellent English language communication skills, both verbal and written.
