VMIX, a leading provider of media management software and services for online publishers, today named Steve Smith Regional Director of Business Development. Smith will lead operations at the new VMIX Atlanta sales office.
"Steve's appointment gives us a seasoned Internet-application strategist with vast experience applying Web 2.0 strategies to traditional business models," President and CEO Mike Glickenhaus said, adding, "Having Steve in Atlanta gives us local access to our clients, agencies and resellers on the East Coast." As Regional Director, Smith brings over 20 years of sales and business-development experience in Internet services and entrepreneurial ventures.
Prior to joining the company, Mr. Smith served as Director of Sales and New Business Development at ThePort Network, a popular social-media platform. At ThePort, he directed executive-level sales and forged relationships with online news, broadcast and publishing partners, and professional sports.

VMIX announced today that it is replacing its VMIX.COM community site with a website that better represents the company's technology and service offerings.
"This is nothing new for us," said CEO Greg Kostello. "VMIX is an established leader in providing media-management and community platforms. We build products that support over 200 media, publishing and broadcast websites. We're simply changing our own website to reflect that focus."

New investors JK&B Capital and ATA Ventures joined existing investors Mission Ventures and Enterprise Partners in this round. The funding will be applied to extending the company's lead in supplying the VMIX CORE software platform to companies and organizations across the globe.
