Can I choose what features I want and don't want?
Absolutely. VMIX offers a full lineup of features that can be bundled into custom solutions to meet your unique media demands. We would be happy to provide a full list of features and services at anytime.
What size is the player?
The total area of VMIX's standard player is 415 x 362. The video area is 400 x 300. We offer additional sizes that can be selected for your desired specifications.
How is the player embedded?
We provide JavaScript code for the player to embed into any of the selected areas of your site.
What is included with implementation?
To help you get started, VMIX will provide access to the VMIX Admin Tool with sample videos, API documents for CORE Media and Community Tools and sample player code that retrieves the sample videos. Additionally, VMIX will assign a dedicated account manager and project manager to you to help you define and manage the scope of work.
How long does implementation take?
Implementation time is dependent upon the scope of work involved in launching your live site. VMIX will work with you to define the scope, establish timelines and help you manage your project. Launching the video player can take less than two weeks!
Who designs the pages?
The standard implementation allows you to handle design of the pages. VMIX will provide the APIs for Media and Community Tool functionality, which will enable your site to interact with the VMIX CORE platform in a secure environment. VMIX will also be available to provide suggestions on layouts. If needed, VMIX can handle design which will be incorporated in the fees.
How will the player serve ads?
VMIX provides pre-roll and post-roll ad support by integrating with your current ad servers. VMIX can pull the advertising media before and/or after playing the VMIX-hosted content, then logs play.
Can we track usage?
Yes. The Admin Tool includes reporting statistics to measure your account inventory (media stored on our servers) and activity (bandwidth utilized).
Will we be able to integrate with our member database?
Yes. You can store member data in a separate location and pass it to VMIX via a unique identifier at the point of registration.
How long does the human review process take?
Normally, the process takes no more than 20 minutes per 3 minute clip and longer for larger-sized files.
Where is the media stored?
Original files, encoded media files, media data and text data will be stored on VMIX's servers. Encoded files can be accessed and managed through the VMIX Admin Tool.
Who owns the media?
You own the rights to videos that are uploaded through your Web property.
Can the media be edited?
Once the media has been encoded into a Flash player-compatible format, it cannot be edited. If you would like to make edits, please make them to the original file and re-upload.
How much network capacity do you have?
We house multiple servers on-site where your original file, encoded files and associated metadata reside. We also have the capability to replicate your content and deliver from globally positioned caching servers, to ensure that your content is delivered to its intended audience rapidly.
